New Police Interceptors Looks Familiar But Only Skin Deep

It's common to keep an view out for the typical Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers. At times I even get nervous when a yellow taxicab drives behind me at night. Though most of us think we pretty powerful have it "down" and under control, the Ford industry is planning on producing a new line of vehicles for the Police.

I did some research on this subject and supposedly the Ford Crown Victoria will end its legacy by the end of 2011. Ford is going to introduce the all new Ford Taurus.

As most of us in Southern California's more thriving cities have probably noticed the recent L.E.D. lights on top of the cruisers in contrast with the modern bulky lights. It's much less visible and harder to recognize on the streets both far away and at night. Think that was a scrape?

The Ford Taurus is beginning to be a widely produced car meaning there will be tons of these cars on the streets. The problem? Probably a qualified 45% of these cars will be Police. The headlights and mirror lights are exactly the same as the civilian Taurus. The typical interceptor lights will be completely L.E.D. and embedded into the bumper and other areas of the car.

The old Crown Victoria had a problem with the fuel tanks being in the rear. That meant many of the cruisers would catch fire when rammed from the rear. The newer Taurus moved the fuel tank to a more safer location in the car...to an extent where it is able to withstand a 75 mph blow in the rear.

Of course with all new car reviews, I'll give you the specifications.
Ford aims to provide a greener environment while providing the best option for the Police. There will be two types of engines available for the cruisers by 2010. There will be the 3.5-liter V-6 (263 hp) or the 3.5-liter Ecoboost twin-turbo V-6 (365 hp). The Ecoboost twin-turbo will be equipped with a 6 speed transmission for maximum efficiency.
This new beast will have a considerable better brake system as well as an extra 10 degrees for the door (for those crazy people that like wiggling around when being assign in the car). "Cops will be able to take advantage of the back-up camera, electronic stability control and SYNC Infomatic System, features that everyday drivers love."

I'd cherish to say 'yay' to this new news as now law enforcement will be less noticeable - which ultimately means better enforcement of law breaking. Yet I'm still young and I have my times when I speed. This isn't going to be very settling for me or others. Talk about the world ending at 2012.
